My font for genuineessiac.com is work sans. Does anyone know if this font would slow down my loading speed for my site, or is it considered to be a common one that wouldn't affect loading speed adversely?
Hi @GenuineEssiac, it depends on how you are serving the font, if the font is being served through Google's hosting it might not have any bad impact on the page speed as it's likely optimized for speed and cached on many users' devices already. This helps reduce load times since browsers may already have the font in their cache.
If you're self-hosting the font files, you have more control over which font formats to include, but you’ll need to ensure that the font files are compressed (e.g., using WOFF2 format) and delivered efficiently.
I have analyzed your website's speed and apart from the font there are many other factors that are slowing down your website.
The element that is taking the most amount of time to be loaded is the banner image you are using.
