Recurring Payments Through iDEAL

We have a subscription model that we currently sell boxes of food.

Therefore, our users subscribe using weekly auto-recurring payments.

Since our company is based in Holland and all of our customers are Dutch, we are looking for a solution that uses the auto-recurring payments that is already available through Mollie with iDEAL.

iDEAL offers the cheapest payment method but unfortunately, doesn't offer a recurring payment method, only a single purchase with using iDEAL.

I have seen several similar requests from a couple of years back, and I was wondering if there's made any progress?

No, there is no option and frankly we are thinking moving to Woocommerce because of Shopify's limitations.

Not sure if still relevant, but:

Over the past years but especially over the past weeks we haven't been "sitting still" (as they say in Dutch 😅) at Firmhouse . We have worked on a native Shopify app that supports Shopify Subscriptions and also supports starting subscriptions from an iDeal, Bancontact and other local payment methods. We are launching our app in the Shopify app very soon so that it becomes easy for merchants to get set up and use as "plug and play", while also retaining our more advanced integration options suitable for larger and more complex merchants and agencies.
