All things Shopify and commerce
Hello, my personal email is getting spammed with tens of thousands of email sign ups from Shopify stores. Every store is different as well as every email that's sending it. im not sure what to do and how to block this. Can Shopify block my email from all stores?
Hello @Brandoncannard,
Greetings! I am Gina from the flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $7Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.
You can take the following steps to reduce the amount of spam you are receiving.
- Mark the unwanted emails as spam in your email client. This will help your email provider's spam filter learn to recognize and filter out these types of emails in the future.
- Most email services allow you to block specific email addresses and, while this won't stop all spam, it can help reduce the number of emails you receive from certain sources; if the emails have an unsubscribe link, you can try unsubscribing from them, though be cautious as some spammers use fake unsubscribe links to confirm active email addresses.
- Check if your email service provides filtering or rules options. You may be able to create rules that automatically send emails from certain domains or with specific keywords to your spam folder.
- Consider using a secondary email address for online sign-ups and purchases. This way, your primary email remains relatively spam-free.
- Make sure you're using strong, unique passwords for your email accounts and any accounts associated with online purchases or sign-ups. This can prevent unauthorized access.
- If you suspect that your email address is being improperly used, you could reach out to Shopify's support to see if they can offer any assistance.
- For online sign-ups, consider using disposable email addresses. Many services offer temporary email addresses that forward to your main inbox but can be deleted after a certain period.
- Make sure your privacy settings are configured appropriately on the websites you visit. Sometimes, unchecked boxes during online interactions can lead to unwanted sign-ups. Also ensure that your computer has up-to-date antivirus and anti-malware software. Sometimes, malware can cause spam-related issues.
I hope this information proves useful. If you find the answer helpful give it a Like and ✓ Mark it as an Accepted Solution.

Did you ever get a legit reply about this? I'm getting spammed hundreds of sign up confirmations and just realized they are all from different Shopify stores using different names and information. Not sure if someone is specifically targeting me or this is some kind of glitch - around the same time these email are coming in, someone is attempting to make fraudulent charges on my Amex.
