I own an art supplies shop and I am struggling with the variant limit. for example, I have oil paints in 195 colours and need customers to be able to see them all at once and not as separate products. I dont need extra options such as size etc.
Most of the apps are too expensive as a $10 a month cost for the app would negate any profit from selling the product.
Does anyone know of a simple and free solution to just increasing a variant such as colour?
Hi @Greg12345
Unfortunately, Shopify's built-in variant limit is 100 per product, and increasing this limit typically requires a third-party app to extent it

Daisy
Hello Greg,
How about not making all the colours you have as variants at all and just have a product without variants. Then, we can create product metaobjects/metafields, that will allow your users to choose what colors they prefer. This can then come in as a property on your order (can also be added to note or colour as a tag) so you can still identify what color your customers choose.
Let me know if you like to do this instead.
Hi @Greg12345
You can use Easify Product Options to solve this without any coding. The app’s Color Swatch feature is free and lets you display all 195 colors in a clean, user-friendly way without hitting Shopify’s variant limit. It’s very easy to set up, and below is an example with 12 colors—you can fully create all 195 color options as needed.
This app is a hassle-free solution, and I think you’ll love it. Reach out to Easify if you need any help with the setup! 🤗
