There is an error in our tax information on Shopify regarding the submission of the 1099-K form. We provided the necessary documents to correct this issue four days ago, but the process has still not been completed.


Today, we received an email from Shopify stating that if we do not correct the tax information by February 28 (within 7 days), our payouts will be suspended. However, we have already provided you with the required information, and the responsibility for updating it now lies with you.


I have contacted live chat multiple times and explained the situation in detail, but they keep saying that it will be processed when it’s our turn. This is an extremely important and urgent matter. We have submitted all the documents and information you requested; all that remains is for you to update the details and provide us with the revised 1099-K form.


Please have someone handle this issue as soon as possible and assist us in resolving it.

Ditto here. Our store has been up and running for close to 5 years. All of a sudden we start getting these increasingly threatening emails warning of payout shut down. I followed the steps. They have the business listed as a sole proprietorship. It's not. Never has been. The TIN/EIN attached to the profile is correct. But the form of business incorrect and there is no way for me to change it. I contacted support upon receipt of the first email. Again on the second. I then opened a chat. After uploading Articles of incorporation, SS4, etc, etc, etc last week via chat I was promised it would be escalated and the support team would be contacting me directly. Never happened. Today payouts have been suspended and the chat agent is stonewalling with banal platitudes "this is SOOOOO important to us!! We'll have someone contact you as soon as possible.". Same thing I got last week.
