It used to be rare but I've had several more customers recently email to say they're concerned because they completed their order and still received the abandoned cart message later. It's not a big deal but it looks unprofessional.
And again this morning:
Hello, and happy New Year! I received the email below, but when I click on the link to my cart, I get the “thank you for your order screen” – my order appears to have gone through. It is order #15749. Could you check on it, to confirm the status? I paid via Paypal, and Paypal says that payment was sent to you. Also, I did receive an order confirmation email, but then received the email below later, so I’m a bit confused.
