Abbreviate country/region selector

How would I get the country/region selector on my store to display the abbreviated version to take up less space. This is what I want to achieve  instead of what I have now: the full name displayed like this

Im not fully sure how to do it. The collaborator request code is 1670, if you could request i'll accept your store access from there
