Add new custom field into Product Page and further use it within liquid page

Hi i would like to customize my product page. I know we have "description" field within product page. 

Is it possible to :

1) add custom field into proudct page, say , "description 1" field & "description 2" field, 

2) then i will also tweak product-template.liquid  which i then  them in different place within product-template.liquid by calling them respectively ( i also want to apply different css design) 

Please kindly help, experts.

@renus thank you for your help.  When i want to add the content to the custom field , is it only available/editable via "Open Bulk Editor" ? as i do not see the added custom filed appear on the main product page ( e.g. i am adding a custom field to product ) . How do i make it editable within main product page too ?
