Adding Input Text Fields Into Product Information Section (and styling

I recently watched a useful video on how to inset input text fields into the product information section of product templates using the custom.liquid block. However I am looking for some advice on how to style these.

I have attached a screenshot of what it currently looks like - I would like to reduce the size of the down to that of the quantity picker (single line text). Below is what is currently inserted in the custom.liquid box;

<label for="Player's Name" class="form__label">Player's Age</label>
<div class="field">
<textarea id="Player's Age" class="text-area field__input" placeholder="Player's Age" name="properties[Player's Age]"form="product-form-{{ section.id }}"></textarea>
</div>

Bonus points for if anyone can advise on how to then include this information on spreadsheet generated from a bulk order export, as this will save me a lot of time,
