Adding terms and conditions to the order confirmation email

I have terms and conditions that customers must agree to before checking out on my site. They must check the checkbox before moving on to the next process. But I noticed, on the order confirmation page it doesn't show proof or say that they agreed to the terms. I was trying to edit the code for the order confirmation email but i'm hesitating because I don't want to mess up with the coding. I just need proof that each customer agreed to the terms and conditions when checking out. Need that to appear on the order confirmation email, as well as the order status page. Can anyone assist me with that please?

Hi, thank you for replying. I followed all the steps but I'm stuck after
"edit code" because I don't see "email templates" anywhere. 😞
