All things Shopify and commerce
We sell wine, and the most popular discount is a Case Discount. The discount only applies to still wines (no booze or sparkling wine) but we want all items to count toward the case. E.g. If someone buys 12 bottles, 4 of which are sparkling, we want the discount to automatically apply to the other 8 bottles.
I set up a Collection of "Discountable Items" and made an Automatic Discount that applies once 12 items from that collection are chosen. However this means that even 1 Non-Discountable item in the case would make the discount inapplicable for that transaction.
Is there a way to achieve what I want?
Hi WineGuy,
It sounds like you want an automatic discount that:
- Applies when at least 12 items are in the cart
- Only applies discounts to items in the "Discountable Items" collection
If so, then you can easily achieve this with our app, Regios Automatic Discounts.
Here's are some screenshots of how you could set this up:
Use these settings:
- Applies to: Specific collections, select "Discountable Items"
- Minimum purchase requirements: quantity of 12, applies to "Entire order"
Here's a screenshot of how it works in the cart:
As you can see, the discount is triggered when the order quantity is >= 12, but only applies to the "Still Wine" product, as you intended.
If you have any questions about this, just reply, and I'll be happy to help you out in this thread.
Best,
Tobe
