Any tips on how to increase our cart conversion rate?

Our brand, Unknown bikes, we sell bicycles, parts and accessories, but we are struggling with a low conversion rate. I believe we have streamlined the checkout process, but we have no idea what else can be done. Could anyone take a look and provide us with some tips to increase our conversion rate?

The page loads quickly on desktop but is much slower on mobile devices. Since many customers shop using their phones, it's important to make the mobile experience faster. Speeding up the mobile page can make customers happier, keep them from leaving the site quickly, and could lead to more sales.

Here are a few strategies to improve mobile page speed:

  • Optimize Images: Compress and resize images to reduce their load time without compromising quality.
  • Leverage Browser Caching: Store some data locally in the user's browser to reduce loading times for repeat visitors.
  • Minimize JavaScript: Reduce the amount of JavaScript on your pages and defer loading of unnecessary scripts to improve initial load times.




Overall, the homepage layout and color palette are well-designed. However, I noticed that some key sections are missing from the homepage:

1. Add direct link for announcement bar:

I realized that you offer a free ship for orders over 500. For better alignment with your content and to enhance user experience, consider directing this link to your product page or collection page. This change could significantly improve navigation and potentially increase your conversion rates.  


2. Hero banner

There are some issues with the hero banner: it does not contain enough information to clearly introduce what you are selling. Ensure the hero banner includes a clear and concise message about your products or services. This helps visitors understand what your site offers at a glance. Additionally, some images in the slideshow are not clear, and the CTA button needs to stand out more.

3. Product list

The product image is good, but please add some spacing between the products. This will make the layout look cleaner and help each product stand out more.

4. Newsletter



Ensure you offer benefits that create a win-win situation for the customer. Use attractive phrases like "up to 20% discount" to incentivize newsletter sign-ups.

Title Tags & Meta Descriptions:

  • Each page should have unique, descriptive title tags and meta descriptions.
  • Include relevant keywords without overstuffing.


  • Regularly updated the blog with valuable content on trendy topics. 
  • Use headings (H1, H2, H3) appropriately to structure content and include keywords.

1. Pay attention to your cart abandonment rate



Additionally, a high cart abandonment rate can be particularly frustrating for your business, especially when you’ve invested heavily in getting people to your site in the first place. 

A high cart abandonment rate represents potential customers who chose not to become customers. This is also a reason causing low conversion rates.


  • You can remind your customers about the products left in their carts and encourage them to finalize their purchase by:
    • Email Reminders: Send emails to customers who abandon their carts, reminding them of their items.
    • Incentives: Offer a discount or free shipping to encourage them to complete their purchase.

2. Homepage




The banner is too general and doesn't catch attention. Also, the banner quality is not good and does not display full size on mobile. 

You should enhance the banner quality and add seasonal banners for current promotions or collections (e.g., Summer Sale, Winter Collection).

2.2. Video


The homepage video should be auto-played to provide better experiences and attract the attention of customers.




  • You should show just some of your highlighted products instead of showing all. Consider using “On sale” or “Featured product” titles to catch the eye. 
  • Also, increase the size and unique styling of discount labels, pricing information to make these more noticeable. Remove sold-out products from these sections.

3. Search features


  • You should set auto suggestions to improve the search feature. Also, the products should be auto displayed on the search when customers type something. It will help customers find products more quickly, enhancing the shopping experience on the site. 
  • Making larger product images, including blog search, collection search, etc functionality for better content discovery.

4. More promotional section


Display other recommendations or promotional sections on the homepage, product detail page,  cart page and checkout page to effectively promote products and attract customers to buy more. The reference is below






5. Review


When a product has no review, this often causes big hesitation to purchase for buyers. You should show reviews on the homepage and product details page. I see you set up customer reviews but it does not work when I click on it. Please check.

6. Make use of your Blog


I see that you have a blog page where you share knowledge and information about bikes and gear. This is the right direction and please keep working on it. Focus on content that is valuable to your target audience, not only about bikes and gears but also about sports, health and lifestyle as well to drive a lot of traffic to your website. Driving more traffic to your website will result in a more accurate and better conversion rate.
