All things Shopify and commerce
Our brand, Unknown bikes, we sell bicycles, parts and accessories, but we are struggling with a low conversion rate. I believe we have streamlined the checkout process, but we have no idea what else can be done. Could anyone take a look and provide us with some tips to increase our conversion rate? www.unknownbikes.eu
Hi @Anonymous!
Kate here from the PageFly Shopify Landing Page Builder App.
I can offer some general insights that might help improve your conversion rate:
General
The page loads quickly on desktop but is much slower on mobile devices. Since many customers shop using their phones, it's important to make the mobile experience faster. Speeding up the mobile page can make customers happier, keep them from leaving the site quickly, and could lead to more sales.
Here are a few strategies to improve mobile page speed:
Homepage
Overall, the homepage layout and color palette are well-designed. However, I noticed that some key sections are missing from the homepage:
1. Add direct link for announcement bar:
I realized that you offer a free ship for orders over 500. For better alignment with your content and to enhance user experience, consider directing this link to your product page or collection page. This change could significantly improve navigation and potentially increase your conversion rates.
2. Hero banner
There are some issues with the hero banner: it does not contain enough information to clearly introduce what you are selling. Ensure the hero banner includes a clear and concise message about your products or services. This helps visitors understand what your site offers at a glance. Additionally, some images in the slideshow are not clear, and the CTA button needs to stand out more.
You can check this image for reference:
3. Product list
The product image is good, but please add some spacing between the products. This will make the layout look cleaner and help each product stand out more.

4. Newsletter
Ensure you offer benefits that create a win-win situation for the customer. Use attractive phrases like "up to 20% discount" to incentivize newsletter sign-ups.

I would also recommend reaching out to friends, family for feedback on your website. Their honest opinions can be invaluable.
Feel free to ask for a more detailed analysis on any specific area, or if there are particular challenges you are facing.
Good luck!

Hi @Anonymous ,
I am from Mageplaza - Shopify solution expert.
I would be happy to review your website and provide feedback on both user experience and SEO to improve the conversion rate.
Overall, your store is quite well set up. The information about your store, products support policy, live chat, review section is very comprehensive and clear, which will address any concerns customers might have. It would be beneficial to regularly update these sections to reflect any new policies or information.
Here are several recommendations:
Firstly, I suggest focusing on improving your SEO to attract organic traffic to your website. A lack of traffic is certainly the reason leading to a low conversion rate. For an average small e-commerce store, you should get at least 1000 visitors per month to start having a stable source for sales.
Here are some basic elements you should check:
Title Tags & Meta Descriptions:
Content:
You can also check this SEO checklist by Shopify to learn more about optimizing your e-commerce store and blog. This will boost your online presence and bring more traffic to your website.
1. Pay attention to your cart abandonment rate
Additionally, a high cart abandonment rate can be particularly frustrating for your business, especially when you’ve invested heavily in getting people to your site in the first place.
A high cart abandonment rate represents potential customers who chose not to become customers. This is also a reason causing low conversion rates.
Besides, I also suggest at looking into content and UX/UI of your website
2. Homepage
2.1.Banner
The banner is too general and doesn't catch attention. Also, the banner quality is not good and does not display full size on mobile.
You should enhance the banner quality and add seasonal banners for current promotions or collections (e.g., Summer Sale, Winter Collection).
You can see the difference between your banner and references:
vs
2.2. Video
The homepage video should be auto-played to provide better experiences and attract the attention of customers.
2.3. COMPLETE FIXED GEAR BIKES

vs
3. Search features
Like the reference below:
4. More promotional section
Display other recommendations or promotional sections on the homepage, product detail page, cart page and checkout page to effectively promote products and attract customers to buy more. The reference is below
5. Review
When a product has no review, this often causes big hesitation to purchase for buyers. You should show reviews on the homepage and product details page. I see you set up customer reviews but it does not work when I click on it. Please check.
Here is a reference:
6. Make use of your Blog
I see that you have a blog page where you share knowledge and information about bikes and gear. This is the right direction and please keep working on it. Focus on content that is valuable to your target audience, not only about bikes and gears but also about sports, health and lifestyle as well to drive a lot of traffic to your website. Driving more traffic to your website will result in a more accurate and better conversion rate.
I hope some of my suggestions are helpful, feel free to give me any feedback.
Good luck!

Hi there,
To increase your conversion rate on your Shopify store, here are several tips you can consider implementing:
Ensure Technical Excellence: Make sure your store is technically sound. This includes having fast loading times and good mobile usability. Test the entire shopping process to ensure everything works smoothly from adding products to completing transactions.
I did a quick review on your site and it does appear in Google search with about 244 results.
The Yoast SEO schema markup doesn't report any issues through the Schema validator tool
Your site's SEO score in Google's Lighthouse tool is 100 out of 100. None of the additional scores were below 50.
Your site is eligible for rich results through Google's Rich Results Test.
Improve Product Browsing: Make it easy for users to browse your products. Add category pages to your site menu and include a search function. Also, consider adding related products on each product page to upsell or cross-sell.
Build Trust: Let customers know they can trust your store by adding a good contact page, security seals, and customer reviews. This is especially important for larger purchases.
Optimize Checkout Page: Even if you have streamlined the checkout process, ensure it is as short as possible and allows guest checkouts. Consider removing or clearly promoting discount code fields to prevent users from leaving your site to look for discounts.
Recover Abandoned Carts: Use email reminders to recover abandoned checkouts. Shopify has a feature that allows you to send emails to customers who have left items in their cart.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Continuously test different setups of your shopping cart and product pages. Track, test, change, and improve based on the data you gather.
By implementing these strategies, you should be able to see an improvement in your conversion rates. For more detailed guidance, you can refer to our article Get more sales on Shopify with these 14 tips.
