Any way to bulk edit collection descriptions?

I need to change a phrase in 150 collections - is there a quicker way than opening each one up, one by one? Bulk edit has allowed me to edit the meta description but not the main description.

Are there any apps that could help, for example that would enable me to export them, edit them in a spreadsheet then reimport them?

You can use Matrixify app that allow to to export the collection in CSV file . You can export collection and add description then import that CSV file.
