Has ANYONE gotten the Quickbooks Desktop Connector to run properly?  Or at all?  This thing is driving me crazy.  It works somewhat occasionally but usually not at all.  The latest and most frequent message is 'create failed'.  This program has not been well thought out or tested in the real world, if at all.  The folks on the phone are very nice, but the problem never get

How are things going with the QBC now?  I know they made changes for every 15 min sync, once a day sync, and manual sync.  Really hopeful for some good news since I want to connect after I have my books finalized for 2023.  Any advice?  Do you know how the QBConnector is going to play out with new versions of QBD ie have you done any Quickbooks upgrades yet?

I have been struggling with this for over a month and am afraid to make the switch out of QB POS until i can get it to work… it looks like I’m not alone. I can’t get QB Desktop to generate a token. Shopify support had me send my logs and gave me some troubleshooting steps, but still nothing.

As a small retail business, it was a struggle in the beginning (June 2023).  QB POS did many accounting things in the background.  Its been a learning curve, but having to really learn how and why it does thing hasn't been easy.  But now, 8 months in, we seem to have worked out all of the kinks.

Would you be able to share what you’ve done and if you feel better off now 8 months down the road? I’m still using QB POS with a third party processor, but I’m worried that eventually that will stop working with a future Windows update.

Are you manually entering everything into Quickbooks Desktop?

Are you using any Shopify apps to sync information?

One of the biggest things I’m worried about not having is when I receive orders into QB POS it creates invoices in QB Desktop and tracks when they are due and makes them so easy to account for without having to adjust inventory in one and re-enter invoices in another.
Any feedback you can offer would be appreciated!

Hello all, I ended up canceling Shopify. Do not need a POS now. I'm now
running my store directly out of QB online. A bit of a learning curve but
is way simpler than the two step deal of a POS system then the
bookkeeping separate. The QB online offers much of the same as QB POS
did. Should have switched long ago.

It seems to me that all of the kinks have been worked out - or it is just a learning curve!  We use the QB Desktop connector.  They updated it and it works much better.

What error do yo get when you try to generate a token?

Typically it’s just a blank window, but sometimes it gives me troubleshooting steps that unfortunately haven’t worked.

I see that some are using it successfully now.  I was stressing at having to deal with the Link team.  It was definitely beginner users trying to teach me.  I finally went with the app, Quickbooks Desktop by Parex Technologies Pvt Ltd.  They do have an QB online version as well.  I am a previous QB POS user and they did a great job linking up shopify in a way that works well for me!  It took sometime to get it the way I wanted it but if it continues to work smoothly it is definitely an improvement from my older system link up.  It even syncs up the PO's which I believe is something the Shopify version does not do yet.  Good luck!
