Apparel brands: product photos vs photos with a model?

Just wanted to share some performance data that's come out of Picjam.ai that could be useful to any of you that are selling via Shopify or a marketplace.

For product photos, we tested product-only vs product with a human model listings across 110 listings. T-shirt category:

+26.7% difference on average with a human model, vs without a model Jeans/pants category

+16.4% difference on average with human model, vs without a model

I do remember seeing studies on how we will look to human faces first when scrolling social media or browsing online, which is something instinctive. Suspect this might have something to with it? Besides explaining the positive results in t-shirts, this might also explain the difference between between t-shirts and pants.

Interested to hear the everyone's thoughts on what they've found? Especially interested if someone has done a Meta ads test outside of Shopify with a similar A/B comparison

I remember implementing "Product/Model" switch, but unfortunately, has no statistics behind this decision:

Have you used an app to generate model photos, or is this the real model photo? I see some apps on the app store that do AI-generated model photos.
