Archive / Remove From Sales Channel / Hidden Collection?

Hello,

For seasonal products is there a way to keep the SEO juice with a particular URL? If you Archive or Remove From Sales Channel then visitors to the URL get a 404. I don't care if someone finds a seasonal product via SEO, what I care about is hiding seasonal products on the site when they are not relevant.

I am wondering if creating a Collection (Out of Season), moving the seasonal products there, and then not having that collection in the navigation menus would accomplish this? Is there an issue doing this? Is there a better way for a product that will come back each season, and that you want to maintain SEO juice on?
