Are unusual search phrases in our online store signs of hacking?

We're seeing some strange search phrases showing up in our online store search.  Things like 123456 expr 979500230 983409819, and var_dump md5 116696212.  Are these hack attempts and if so how should we handle?  Thank you!

Unfortunately I don't have any insight but I can say that we are seeing the same search phrases. not sure what to make of it.
