Automated Fulfillment and Notifications

Automated Fulfillment and Notifications

Hello,

This is my first time posting here, and I'd really appreciate some guidance. I operate Brick And Mortar stores that also handle my online orders. Because of this setup, it's crucial to have real-time, quick notifications for my staff. This ensures that they immediately set aside products for online sales and avoid selling them in-store.

I'm looking to streamline this process further by automating the shipping preparations. Ideally, my employees wouldn't have to manually handle shipping labels; instead, they'd receive an email (or another type of notification) with details about the product to be shipped and the accompanying shipping label.

I want to make the process as effortless and efficient as possible for both my management team and staff. If anyone has recommendations for apps, or tips on setting up Zaps or Flows, I'm all ears!

Thanks

Hi,

For automating notifications and shipping, you can use the following tools:

  1. Shopify Flow: If you're on Shopify Plus, Flow is a powerful automation tool that can trigger actions like sending emails or notifications when an order is placed, including generating shipping labels automatically.

  2. ShipStation: This app integrates with Shopify and can automate shipping label creation. It can also send notifications to your staff with shipping details.

  3. Zapier: Set up a Zap that triggers when a new order is placed. You can configure it to send an email with the order details and shipping label to your staff automatically.

These options can help streamline your process, reduce manual work, and keep your staff on top of online orders.

When I ran a store we used Shippo app to generate labels. I've seen other stores use ShipStation (rec'd by the other reply here).

For custom notifications, Order Automator does that. You can, for example, send a custom email notification to a staff member (or any email address), when the order contains certain contents, is from a certain region, etc.  It's easy to set up, but if you want to see more info: How to Send Custom Order Notifications in Shopify

A common workflow is to setup the email notification to the staff / supplier, then when they ship they print the label, add tracking, mark fulfilled.

I'm not sure about the possibility of adding a shipping label in the email, would depend on how you're generating those and if a PDF can automatically be generated. If you like the custom notifications and go the route of Order Automator just reach out through the app, it's customizable.

Hey @ShoeShipper

For automating order notifications, I'd recommend checking out the Arigato Workflow Automation app. The app allows you to trigger various actions when orders are created, updated, fulfilled etc and you can easily configure it to send SMS or email notifications to your staff in real time or as a daily summary or all items that were purchased online! You can also learn more about other ways this app can help to automate other manual tasks here.

Feel free to drop a line here with any questions! 🙂
