Automatic email discount codes

Hi there,

Can I set emails to automatically send out emails to new subscribers to provide them with a discount code for there first order? 

i.e. Sign up to our newsletter to get 10% off your first order...or something to that effect

Asking the same question.  Have had a look around and dont want to use yet another app, AND pay more, when this should be a feature in Shopify Mail.  Is it?

It's simple, As per my understanding, you want to send the email with discount coupon automatic to your new subscribers. Is that right?

Your Confirmation email template 

You can include the discount coupon in your confirmation email template. The email will send automatically whenever a new users sign up for the newsletter.  Go to the Settings > Notification and edit the following template.

Has anyone been able to sort out a automatic discount code when people subscribe as i have looked at all what has been said on here and followed the instruction but alias it isn't working? anyone any ideas? sorry to gate crash your post!!
