Hello,
I tried looking everywhere on how to send automatic Shipping Confirmation Emails (Fulfilment Emails with Tracking) to my customers but can't seem to find out how to switch that on. Can someone help, please?
I want the customers to automatically receive an email with the tracking information once the order is marked as fulfilled, I don't want to have to do it manually since it will take a lot of time.
Thank you so much!
OLA
Hi,
The shipping notifications are sent automatically upon fulfillment of the order unless you manually uncheck the box “Send notification email to the customer” during the process.
Make sure you enable the box “Send notification email to the customer”. Once this is done, the shipping notifications are sent automatically upon order fulfillment. To verify if the email was sent to the customer, just go to your Shopify Admin > Orders section. You can see tracking email notification details. Shopify automatically sends the “Order Confirmed” and “Order Shipped” notifications for all the orders.
However, if you are looking for automating this, you will have to use an app like the Shipment tracking and notify app, which will help you send tracking notifications including “In transit details, Out for Delivery, and Delivered” to your customers.
Hello, @OLA33.
This is Elias with Shopify Support. I'd be happy to lend a hand with this!
While the tracking number does need to be entered manually, with the exception of shipping labels purchased through Shopify. However, the shipping confirmation emails are sent automatically once you've added tracking numbers to the orders by toggling the option when adding the tracking number.
That being said, when purchasing Shopify shipping labels, the tracking numbers are also added to the orders automatically and you can opt to have the shipping confirmation emails sent during the purchase of the shipping labels as well.
I'd love to know if this helps clarify your question. If you've any other questions on this topic, don't hesitate to let me know!

Hi, @OLA33.
Thank you for following up!
I was able to find ShipStation's guide on Customer Notification Settings and found that their delivery notifications is disabled by default - this is something you can enable through their app's settings. However, if you're looking to disable ShipStation's notifications and switch over to using our notification templates, then I'd recommend reaching out to ShipStation Support first and making sure that you have the correct settings applied to their app and for your Shopify admin.
I'd recommend checking for any settings on ShipStation that can help trigger the notifications on Shopify, such as triggering the shipment confirmation notifications when a tracking number is added, so that our system knows when to send the emails. It's also important to note that whether the delivery notification emails would be triggered depends on the carrier you're using as well, as some carriers or certain shipping methods doesn't offer delivery updates and may not trigger the delivery notification emails.
I'd love to know if this helps point you in the right direction for your notifications. Let me know!
