B2B and B2C - Shared Inventory Problem

B2B and B2C - Shared Inventory Problem

Current Scenario

  • Our business is exclusively B2C.
  • We are adding a B2B (retail showroom reseller) component to our business model.
  • We have a wide amount of SKUs but relatively low quantities in each.
  • I've figured out how to create wholesale accounts and unique wholesale pricing

The Problem

  • I would like to reserve 1 unit only for sale to our B2C (full price) customers.
  • Is there a way to somehow share the inventory, but have a safety inventory only available to B2C?

I'm not sure if there is some magical App, inventory management, split warehouse configuration that might allow this.

Hi Bill, our app Fusion Inventory would solve the the problem you described. Please take a look at the examples in the user guide which also contains set up instructions. Let me know if you have any questions.

By the way, there are also Shopify Apps for B2B stores which solve for other problems you may encounter as you add B2B capabilities to your store. You may want to look into them. 😉

Interesting idea for sure.  Would there be a way to prioritize inventory for the B2C customer?  For instance if I was down to 1 unit of Sku X, can I make a configuration that would have
B2C Available: 1
B2B Available: 0
