Hey @orlym! There are a few different ways you can go about this. You could -

  1. Build a custom solution by getting code from ChatGPT. It'd be easy to add the Notify me button, but complicated to send the emails in the right way.
  2. Use Klaviyo or Shopify Email. This requires a bit of coding to get the Notify me button, but you get lots of powerful customization options for the email alerts.
  3. Use a back in stock alerts app like Stoq to set up everything in a few clicks.

I'm one of the founders of Stoq, so my recommendation will be the 3rd option. 🙂 But even if you don't use our app - which is one of Shopify's top-rated ones and we've been at it for 3 years - I'd still highly recommend using an app for this. The data shows us that back in stock alerts are a massive source of revenue for most merchants and it can be one of the highest converting notifications too. It's extremely effective, to the point where many large merchants invest lots of effort into doing it right.

There's lots of different things to think about like - email vs SMS, notifying everyone on waitlist vs in batches, collecting marketing consent, tracking your in-demand products and more. Stoq simplifies this and makes it as simple as a few clicks!

We have a generous free plan, and 24*7 support to get you started. I also keep tabs on our Support team and ensure that everyone, no matter where they are in their journey, gets top notch help from us. I'd love to do the same for you! 🙂

Hi @Sandy-Stoq

Can I implement back in stock on the hydrogen store? I am storing the product handle and email of the customer in the metaobject entry, but want to know how I can trigger email to customer that product is back in stock and remove the stored data from the metaobject. Please let me know your thoughts on how I can implement this.

Thanks
Khasim

Hey @Khasim1! I'm not sure of a way to do this with metaobjects at the moment. Though I think if it's Klaviyo, you should be able to find a way to integrate.

For what it's worth, you can do this in a more straightforward way with our app - STOQ. We have an API to send back in stock alert signups (so you can design your own Notify me button and flow). When the merchant restocks, we'll send out the emails to your customers.

And you can also use STOQ to send email back in stock alerts through Klaviyo. We're building the app as a middleware between your store and emails, so I think this would fit in well. Happy to walk you through all of this over DM!
