hello! I have purchased a basic plan - but it keeps saying lite on my profile. I cannot connect a custom domain because of this. any ideas how to sort this?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some assistance with this request, to ensure it gets resolved. To confirm I'm fully understanding, are you receiving an error when attempting to connect the domain?
If so, I'd encourage you to confirm the subscription plan that you're currently on. To locate those details, you can head to Settings > Plan from the Shopify admin.
The Shopify Lite Plan is directed towards merchants that are looking to sell products without maintaining an online store. Due to this, it does not offer the option for custom domains. The Shopify Basic Plan however, provides you with all the tools required in order to sell online, including custom domains.
If you have confirmed that you are on the Shopify Lite Plan, you will want to upgrade in order to access that feature. We have a great Adjusting Your Plan document that I'd recommend checking out, as it shares steps on how you can complete this.
If however, you are seeing the Shopify Basic Plan listed under your plan details, you will want to connect with us directly. This will allow our support team to investigate further, as we don't have access to any account specific information through the Community.

Head over to our Help Center.
Enter into the chat box Contact Support.
Log into your shop.
Select one of the available support options.

Maybe you or someone else can help with this as I am having the same issue. I purchased the Basic Plan, not Starter, Basic. I bought a custom domain from a third party. Now when I select the add a domain option I'm told that I need to upgrade my plan in order to do so. And when checking my plan under settings it states I have Shopify Lite.
Why do I have Lite when I signed up for and purchased Basic? And why am I told I need to pay more to have a custom domain?
Shopify must have been slow or something today. It's now resolved itself.
