All things Shopify and commerce
hi! we are running a t-shirt printing business, and we have about 100-200 new designs every single month, we are making all of our mockups, but that means with 1 new design we have about 40-50 different product picture (unisex t-shirt, woman t-shirt, men's and women sleeveless, hoodies, sweatshirts etc) so 1 product has about 80 variants at least, but many products are having the variants different, I mean - maybe 1 design goes on 7 different colors but the next one goes on 9, so yeah.. we have tried now the shopify csv bulk upload but that is a little bit slow for us, we are faster if we upload everything manually and click the variants like if we do it in an excel csv - our question is how could we speed up the process? is there any app or something similar that could help us? thanks in advance!
Hi @rv3,
You can try to duplicate product from an existing products then manually edit directly on your admin instead of edit in CSV and then import.

Hi, @rv3.
Hi there! Rio here from the Shopify Community team. I understand that you're looking for a way to speed up the process of uploading your product variants. I can definitely help you with that.
One app that you might find helpful is the EZ Importer app. This app allows you to edit multiple products and variants at once, which can save you a lot of time. You can also use the app to import your products and variants from a CSV file, which can possibly be faster for your use case. I would recommend posting this same question to their support team as their app does have additional functionality vs our CSV import, which may help you with mapping the variants correctly.
Another app that you might find useful is the Variant Wizard App. This app allows you to automatically assign images to your product variants based on rules that you set up. This can save you a lot of time if you have a lot of product variants with different images. It also has other variant options that allow you to showcase your product variants in a customized way.
In addition to these apps, you might also want to consider using a product mockup generator tool like Placeit. These tools allow you to create product mockups quickly and easily, which can save you time when creating product images.

First, thanks for the recommendation @Rio! We appreciate the shoutout.
I would like to clarify, though, as there seems to be some confusion. Our EZ Importer app doesn't have the functionality to import products. It only works for importing orders. The concept does hold true but for order imports only. You can associate products with your orders but can't upload products or product variants with EZ Importer.
I hope I was able to clarify what our app does support. @rv3 If you have further questions, please feel free to contact our support team. We're always happy to help answer questions if you have any more.
Thanks again for thinking of us @Rio. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to clarify.
Thanks for jumping in and clarifying that, @Ralph-HA.
Just checking in here, @rv3. Were you able to try out the other app to see if the variant image selection helped solve the problem?

No, i have managed to do the thing with custom python script and some excel magic.
Hi Rv3,
Suppose you are still looking for a solution. Do try out Stock Sync app (https://apps.shopify.com/stocksync) can import products with variants. It supports most of the file formats out there (without the need to edit the file). Do give it a try. It is free to import 3 products without any fees.
