Buy X get Y automation app for Headless site

I'm running a free gift campaign on a headless site. With Shopify's standard 'Buy X get Y free' feature both products have to be added to the basket - which customers don't do (despite instructions on the site). 

Can anyone recommend an app that automates this process and works on a headless site?

If you are just wanting to add a free product to the order, you can do that with Order Automator.

Here's how:

1) Create a Tag Order rule to identify orders you want to add the free gift (for example: IF order contains product from collection X)

2) Attach an action to add the free product to that order

Now when those orders where customer is set to get a free gift come in, the free product is added to the order after they place it.

If you want that workflow set up for you just reach out through the app, it's a common use case.
