Is there any possible way for me to start a business as I a minor in Canada?  Starting an online store is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now but I’m not sure if I legally can until I turn 18

Hi @5boof5,

Thanks for being part of the Shopify Community, and wow! You're such an inspiration for trying to be an entrepreneur from an early age. Now, you should know that you must turn 18 years old prior to establishing a legal business.

If you don't have a business in place, no payment provider will accept working with you for legal, obvious reasons. And Shopify won't like doing business with you either for the same obvious reasons.

Do not see this as a step back though. As long as you can find an adult (your parents are highly recommended) who can help with establishing a legal business, you're good to go. Keep in mind that you'll have to pay taxes, get an accountant and more not-fun stuff, but this will prepare you for life and as long as you convince an adult that you're responsible enough to grow a business, go and try!

Alternatively, you might want to invest in your education and learn everything you can about Shopify, eCommerce and the online world in general.

Thanks, and have a nice one!
