All things Shopify and commerce
Hi Everyone,
I did a search but can't find the answer to my specific question.
To set the scene:
I have items for sale which have been selling with SKU codes that I randomly generated when I opened the shop a few years ago. Now, i'm looking to standardize all of my SKU codes and I need to modify the codes of many items.
Will this have any impact on my historic sales data? Will the new SKU code simply apply to the historic orders when i pull the sales history?
Thanks!

Hey SierraMountain, if you change the SKU's to your products it won't affect any sales that have already been made, as well as the reports for those sales.
That being said, if you look at your "Sales by Product" report after changing the SKU's, and filter the report to show one product, it will show you two listings with the amount sold for each.
You can Change the SQU of your Product
Go to Admin pannel,
Then product,
then their will you see the SKQ option.
This is an accepted solution.
