Can customers upload ID for age verification on my online store?

Hello, Guys. Asking a question for ID upload. I'm building a store in Shopify but I want to make sure that my buyers are 18 years old and above. 
Is it possible to have a functionality in Shopify where my customers can upload a photo of their ID so I can validate year of birth?

I'd agree with @PMike's suggestion of implementing a third-party app from the Shopify App Store to help achieve what you're after.

We have a lot of age verifier apps in the App Store here, though keep in mind that the majority of them simply allow visitors to input their birth date without the option to upload a photo ID. Because of this, I also recommend browsing through our ID verification apps, such as this Real ID app here.

As always, with third-party apps you'll need to reach out to the app support team directly for any queries you have, as the app's team are best equipped to assist.

One option for doing this would be to use our Helium Customer Fields app which allows you to create a custom registration form.

On your form you could certainly include a birthday and or file upload field, and can also use our manual account approval feature so that your staff can review each account before they gain access. Coupling this with Shopify's setting to require customer account before checkout, would only allow your approved customers to make purchases.

Yes, you can verify your customer's actual drivers licenses to verify their age with Real ID.

Real ID integrates directly into your Shopify's stores online checkout process so you can automate your age restriction policy for all customers.

Real ID will prompt the customer to securely capture a photo of their ID with their camera (with an optional selfie for comparison). Then Real ID will verify the license details, extract the name, date of birth, address, expiration date with A.I.

After the details have been verified, it will apply your minimum age restrictions (yes we cover Canadian per province age restrictions as well) to pass or fail the ID.

It's 100% A.I. based, with the option to override. The customer's profile in your Shopify store is tracked, so that they're not required to verify their ID for  future purchases.
