Can I customize the 'Search & Discovery' app for product filtering?

Hello everyone,

I would like to customize "search & discovery" app as described below.

1. When selecting a product from the main menu, the filter shows only those features that relate to these products. All other filter options are hidden. 

I would like to have a filter so that when selecting a product, also from the main menu, the selected options are displayed as buttons above the filter, but all other filtering options are still visible in the filter.

2. Choosing filter values from the same as well as from the different filters should be an "or" statement that increases the number of results.

Can the "search & discovery" app be customized? If so, how does it work? Should I hire an expert from the marketplace for this?

Hello @solvia , This has the signs of an XYProblem what's is the actual goal and in what way do collection filters solve it.

The app itself cannot be customized, you only use it for configuration.

Then your theme uses that information to render filters and behaviors within the limitations of what's possible.
