Can i delay billing to the 1st of the month?

36 0 5

I run a monthly coffee subscription service through appstle app.

As it stands, when a customer starts a subscription during the month, they are automatically billed and I therefore have to fulfil an order for them.

I wanted to know if I could delay the billing for the first payment to the 1st of the month. From the second payment, it is already filtered through the subscription app so no problem there. The issue is just the first payment.

The reason I ask this is because I want to be able to fulfil all my subscription orders on the 1st of every month. As it stands, one customers can start their subscription on the 13th, another, the 15th, another the 25th, and i have to fulfil their first order on those dates. Its not efficient.

Any help would be appreciated. Link to subscription page is here for your perusal:

Hi, @grindlery

Eunice here from Shopify. Thanks for posting! I hope you're having a good day so far 😊

From your message, it sounds like you want to bill all new subscribers on the 1st of the month, rather than the day they sign up. Is that right?

What you could do is set up manual payment capture. This way, when a customer signs up/places their order, the payment won't be captured automatically. Instead, your customer will provide their payment details for you to capture at a later date. The only issue with this is that the credit card authorization period for capturing payment varies depending on your payment provider. For example, Shopify Payments provides an authorization period of 7 days for credit card payments. If you don't capture the payment before the authorization period lapses then you might not be able to collect any money for the order.

Alternatively, I recommend contacting the developer of the subscription app you are using. They might be able to provide you with a solution whereby they capture the initial payment, as well as the subsequent payments.

I hope this helps a little. I love your store by the way!
