All things Shopify and commerce
Hi all
This might be an obvious question but I'm really not sure. Let's say my store goes live where customers can browse, buy etc. My question is can I still add products, make changes to the collections, sync my stock and change prices whilst they are shopping or do I need to password protect my store (i.e. close) first before I can implement any changes?
Many thanks!

Yes, you can definitely make the back end edits you listed while the store is live. Depending on the scope and impact of those changes though, you may or may not want to do it during a high traffic period. But those reasons would all be business related - for example, if a product is working well, then you may not want to disturb it too much. Conversely, if your inventory is running out, then you probably want to make that edit to avoid over-selling.
I'm sure there are some good reasons to take your store offline, but I currently can't think of any unless it was to shut it down.
However, there are some other store edits you will want to be more careful. For example, for theme edits, particularly ones that edit the theme code, its best to make your edits on a duplicate version and make sure it functions properly before publishing it live.
