Can I see a detailed breakdown of my orders with their specified variants?

We have created an online shop for one of our customers so they can individually place and pay for orders for a sports team. Each item has a name/number option (which I added to our product page using the Avis Product Options app).

Once all the orders are placed, I would like to export all the orders to a single spreadsheet or location, but I need it to include the names and numbers they specified with their order.

Is there a way to see all of this for the orders at once? Or do I have to just go into the individual orders to get the name/number information?

Hi,

This is Richard at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

You've hit a common challenge with Shopify and product options apps: getting that specific, customized data into a single, easily exportable format. Here's a breakdown of the issue and potential solutions:

The Challenge:

  • Standard Shopify Exports: Shopify's standard order exports don't typically include the custom product options added by apps like Avis Product Options. This is because these options are stored as line item properties, which are not always included in basic exports.
  • App-Specific Data: The Avis Product Options app stores the name/number information within its own data structure, which may not be directly accessible through Shopify's standard export functionality.

Solutions:

  1. Avis Product Options App Export (If Available):

    • Check if the Avis Product Options app itself offers an export feature. Some product options apps provide their own export tools that include the custom option data.

    • Review the apps documentation, or contact Avis product option app support to see if they offer a way to export the data.
  2. Shopify API and Custom Export:

    • If you have development resources or are comfortable with coding, you can use the Shopify API to create a custom export.

    • The API allows you to retrieve order data, including line item properties, which contain the custom option information.

    • You can then format this data into a CSV or Excel file.
    • This is the most powerful and flexible solution, but it requires technical expertise.
  3. Third-Party Reporting Apps (With Custom Options Support):

    • Explore the Shopify App Store for reporting apps that explicitly state they support custom product options or line item properties.
    • Some advanced reporting apps can extract and include this data in their exports.
    • Look for apps that offer flexible export options and customization.
    • Be sure to check the apps reviews to make sure that other users have had success exporting custom options.

Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.

Best regards,

Richard | PageFly

@SI87 , I believe your customer creates a draft order and marks it as paid. Currently, you need to open each order individually to view the name and number from the Avis Product Options app because the default order report does not include this data—it’s stored within the Avis app. To address this, consider using a reporting app.
You can try the Report Pundit app: generate an order report and select the order line item properties field to display the corresponding names and numbers. Additionally, you can automate this report to be sent to Google Sheets using either the overwrite or append option. This should resolve your query, and our support team can create this report instantly.
