Can I switch from a Basic to a Starter plan on my existing website?

Hi, I'm downsizing my website and just selling via social media now and wanted to chance my plan from basic to starter.... right now I'm spending $75 AUD a month on the Basic and I cannot afford that just for needing a simple shop code function.... I see it's only for new merchants! Why is this? Surely having spend all this time and money on building my shop up, why it is only offered to new merchants and exisiting is simply awful. I don't have time to cancel my shopify and start it all over again on a new merchant plan and rebuild all the shop again just to save me the money.... Is this the only way? Can I get some customer support on this?

Unfortunately, the Shopify pricing plans, including the Starter plan, are typically available for new merchants only. Existing merchants may not be able to switch directly to these plans without starting a new store.
