It sounds as though you're trying to set up Shopify Payments for use in the USA, is that correct?

If so, you are required to use your SSN or ITIN in full (all 9 digits) as part of your verification process (even where you have an EIN for your business).

There's more info on the requirements for Shopify Payments in the USA here on our help site you can check out. 

You would also be requirement to submit personal and business identification, in order to show your business address and permission to do business in that country.
