Can shopify replace an inventory management system?

Hi, I currently am using Lightspeed for my inventory management system for a liquor store. We have an online website currently built in WooCommerce. There are challenges with things like inventory syncing (takes about 10 min), and coordinating things like loyalty programs and gift cards between online and instore. Would Shopify and Shopify POS allow me to replace Lightspeed and work within one system online and in-store? My understanding thus far is that Shopify isn't exactly a true replacement for a robust inventory system.

I mean it depends upon your requirements and the complexity of those requirements. There are plenty of apps in the marketplace.
