All things Shopify and commerce
This is how the product page looks like. I am able to translate everything else on the website except "Availability" and "Price". I suspect this is because there's a separate line of code for desktop and mobile only for these two specific words/sections here. I have looked all over sections and snippets in the code editor but I'm unable to find where this is located and change it manually in html/css. I am struggling bad. If anyone has any ideas where this could be located in the code or another method to fix it, maybe with an app or something, any help would be much appreciated.
Hey there -
If you are using Translate and Adapt from Shopify to handle the translations you would do it the translations within the app itself.
I created a cook Loom to show you where the filter translations are located: https://www.loom.com/share/76f496bc3abb461e8454a2f4fe9256b1?sid=8abd9954-e678-4cc9-b9d8-a4b9484e6749.
Thank you! Didn't know about that app, seem like my problem will finally be solved!
However, after doing what you showed in the video and clicking save it still shows up in English on the website... I was not using the Translate and Adapt app, I was changing the language by Editing the default theme content. Do I need to change everything through the app and then apply it or is there some way to activate these translations that I'm missing? Thanks again for your help.
Well I have learned that now there's a drop down menu in the top of the site to let me pick either English or Serbian. When I set Serbian as the default language all the translations I did so far are gone. Is the only way to fix this to redo all the translations through Translate and Adapt and then publish Serbian as the default language?
Unbelievable, changed the entire language to Croatian in hopes it would fix this, Availability and Price still show up in English... Is there a way to change the default language? I did the same thing as before translating Croatian (Global) to Croatian (International), but is there a way to make the international translation the default one?
Hi my friend, I'm facing literally the same problem.
Did you find a solution to this problem?
Same problem... ;(
Listen my friend it's very easy.
Download free "Search & Discovery" -> go to "Filters" and then you can translate and it works 100% correctly.
I've heard you can actually uninstalled it after that but I don't find it necessary for me so I keep it on my website (:
Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know! Finally it works... 🙂
Have a great day!
My pleasure, I also spend 2-3 hours last week finding that, and I forgot to update our community
No worries... thanks! 🙂
you are a **bleep** crack, thanks. and please shopify, fix the bug...
I could solve the issue! Problem with the Search & Translate app for me was, that "German for European Union change" was selected, as shown in first screenshot. If I change the German translation there, it doesn't update. I had to switch to "German for Germany change" as shown in second screenshot.
