Hi there,
I recently opened my new store and I'm currently experiencing an issue on the Dawn Theme where I cannot remove an item from my cart once it's been added. It appears that this is a common issues which was addressed nearly a year ago by the Shopify team @Imogen , however I'm still experiencing the same issue. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? I'd rather not create a "clear cart" button, I'd prefer if the quantity selector worked properly.

It's been sometime since that forum post you mentioned. We don't have any ongoing issues that would be impacting the cart page of your theme, so my suspicion here is that there's a recently installed application that's impacting the coding of your cart page. When this issue pops up, that is usually the cause.
We can test this by doing the following:

I tried your suggestion but even when I downloaded a new dawn theme it still has the same product in my cart.

It would be odd for a product to remain in your cart after you've tested things in a different theme. Can you provide me with a URL link to your store so I can test this functionality for myself? I would appreciate that!
Additionally, in past experiences, this issue is usually a result of a third party application. Do you recall installing any third party applications recently in your store?

Edited: It finally allowed me to delete. I'm not sure what actually worked as I tried all the suggested tricks. Any chance Dawn will be fixed so this won't happen even with 3rd party apps installed? Thanks

It's awesome to hear that you got this issue resolved. Focusing on your comment regarding when Dawn will be 'fixed', Dawn itself, is not broken. It's likely what happened here is that a combination of the factors I outlined above caused this issue. Most likely, the coding of a third party app may have interacted with the coding of another, causing the issue. I cannot say this for certain however, as I'm unable to access your store, and the coding would have been changed now with the deletion of any suspect applications.
If you find that you experience this issue again when using Dawn, feel free to follow up with me here and let me know so we can troubleshoot and collect some additional details.

Make sure to adjust the color scheme. There's a separate option for the basket icon which by default is the background color (if adjusted)!!
OMG!!! you are totally right! I spent hours trying to fix liquid code... and it was already there. Just hiding in the colour scheme!! Fark me! Not even chatgpt picked it up when I copy pasted the code as a last resort. Thank you @maxkardol99 it easy like turning it on and off again ! hahaha! Imagine if I went to install a third party app and paid for it!! I assumed that a delete/trashcan button shouldnt be something you paid for, but hey, you never know these days!! lol
