Can't see all collections while creating navigation item

Hi,

I'm adding new collections to my store and trying to link them to the Navigation. For the first few collections, I had no problem but all the collections I added today are not showing up in the list of collections when trying to link in a navigation item. I've checked and all the collections are marked as available for the online store and all other channels. And both manual / automatic collections have the same issue. Essentially no difference between collections created yesterday and today but the problem shows up in new collections only.

Appreciate any hints.

Shipra

I have the same problem, i can't use my new collection and my new products are not showing in stock page

It's like shopify doesn't update itself

EDT: I did nothing but it works back

Same issue here. Was able to see (and hook up) the newly created collection in the menu editor dropdown once I removed some old collections. Bug in Shopify's end?

Hello,

Thanks all for replying. The collections started appearing now. This is consistent with some responses I saw before about collections appearing in the navigation after a gap of a few hours.

Hopefully Shopify will investigate and fix the root cause.

Cheers.

I know this is old but this issue is still happening. It's happening to me right now. I need to add the collection to my main menu drop down, but this one collection refuses to show up. I've tried reloading the page multiple times. I've tried toggling the online store visibility off and on, saving, and then trying to add it it again. Still didn't show up. I just opened my shopify account yesterday, I only have 6 collections total. The first 5 worked flawlessly. It's the 6th, and newest, collection that I've just added that won't show up in the "link" search when I try to add it to the menu.

The collection does show up everywhere else, and it does have a product in it. Has anyone found a solution for this? Because it's kind of irritating not being able to add this collection to my navigation menu.

I'm having the exact same problem right now. I'm going to give it some time and check again. I don't want to have to recreate the 20 collections I did. This is super frustrating.

I agree, it is quite frustrating. I only had to recreate one collection this time, but I'm really hoping I don't run into the issue again. I can't imagine having to redo 20 different collections. Hopefully they will show up after some time passes. Considering the original post is two years old, I'd think Shopify would have come out with a fix for this by now.

For anyone who stumbles upon this, here is what worked for me:

1. Creating a new, identical collection to the one you're trying to link to navigation.

2. Edit the product(s) that are in the collection by adding them to the new, identical collection and removing them from the old one. Save the product listings.

3. Go back to the collections page in admin, delete the old collection that should now contain zero products.

4. Return to navigation, edit the menu and try adding the newly created collection.

It should show up after following these steps. I'm not sure if this problem will persist with future collections or if this process will need to be repeated, but it worked in this one instance. Hopefully that helps someone else who might be having this issue!

The trick relies on a Theme Template that handles your collection style.

You must navigate to the style collection style section titled "ONLINE STORE" in order to resolve this issue. Find this section at the bottom of your screen, it is usually the last section or the last section on the right-hand side. You can change the default style by selecting another option from the list.

Couldn't find an answer here for my issue. How I fixed mine was I realized the collections that weren't showing up were because I didn't have any sales channel selected for them. So after I turned on all the sales channels for the collections, they showed up on the navigation dropdowns
