Can't upload photos

This is happening continuously.  When I try to upload variant photos, they don't populate so I can choose what to upload.

I have to constantly change browsers, clear my cache and reboot. My laptop is 3 weeks old. It is impossible to get anything done while having to validate my identity to every other website over and over because of consistently clearing my cache.

Does anyone else experience this and/or what should I do?

I feel like I spend more time during the day troubleshooting stuff like this with Shopify then I do anything else.

It sounds frustrating to deal with this issue repeatedly. Have you tried reaching out to Shopify Support for assistance? They might be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps or insights into why this is happening consistently.

How big are the photos? If they are too large, uploading and processing them would take 30-60 seconds each.

Hi @tph0724,

This is Kate from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app. Below are some reasons and solutions for your problem.

Potential Causes:

  1. Browser Issues: There could be compatibility issues or bugs in the browser you're using.
  2. Shopify Platform Issues: There might be temporary issues with Shopify's servers or the specific feature you are using.
  3. File Size or Type: The images you're trying to upload might not meet Shopify's requirements for file size or type.
  4. Extensions or Plugins: Browser extensions or plugins might interfere with the functionality of Shopify.

Solutions:

  1. Try Different Browsers: Although you've already done this, ensure you're using the most updated version of each browser. Recommended browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
  2. Check File Size and Type: Ensure that the images you're uploading are within Shopify's recommended file size and type limits. Shopify recommends using JPEG or PNG formats with a maximum file size of 20 MB.
  3. Disable Browser Extensions: Temporarily disable all browser extensions to check if any of them are causing the issue. Ad blockers or privacy-focused extensions can sometimes interfere with web functionality.
  4. Update Your Browser: Ensure your browser is up to date. Outdated browsers can have bugs that interfere with website functionality.
  5. Check Shopify Status: Visit Shopify’s status page (https://status.shopify.com) to see if there are any ongoing issues with the platform.
  6. Contact Shopify Support: If the problem persists, contacting Shopify support might be necessary. They can provide more in-depth assistance and check if there's an issue on their end.

Steps to Contact Shopify Support:

  1. Go to the Shopify Help Center.
  2. Log in to your Shopify account.
  3. Click on 'Contact support' and choose the preferred method of communication (live chat, email, or phone).

I hope you find these suggestions helpful with you to solve your problem. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. I wish you the best of luck with your online venture.

Best regards,

Kate | PageFly Team

Hi @tph0724 , I hope you're having a great day!

Smart Bulk Image Upload app is implemented for this reason; you can upload thousands of images in bulk with the app 🙂

You can find the demo video here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBIVDNf4PgM&t=235s

Let me know if you need any help or have any other questions! I'd glad to help.

Same here, it is taking ages to upload the simplest image (1200px square, .jpg, 72 dpi - made in Photoshop). It's been processing for over 5 minutes now, happens over and over. Ridiculous. Very hard to do anything!

Sort it out Shopify! 😡
