Can't use 2 discount Codes on one purchase

Hi there,

I'm trying to allow my customers to use 2 discounts codes on a single purchase. I've selected all of the "allowance" requirements in Shopify and it still won't work.

One discount code is automatic and the other is 10%off. At checkout, you can see the automatic "LAUNCH DAY SALE" discount. When I add in the 10% off discount, it replaces the LAUNCH DAY discount instead of adding to it.

Is there something I'm missing??

Hi, automatic codes don’t combine or stack with the other types of discounts including codes. Moreover, while they’ll tell  you that customers can now enter more than one discount code, there are a bunch of “ifs”— some dependent on the discount type (product, order, shipping), some dependent on your product “taxonomy” (for lack of a better way of describing it) set up. That includes if you check “combines with___”. The other issue is by default the cart will choose the “better” deal for the customer (which is why you saw the code replaced). Yes, even if you intend for the customer to get the benefit of both. The only way I’ve seen, without apps (or reworking your product “taxonomy”), is to use a compare-to-price on a specific product (manual sale) and create a code that applies to that product or overall order.

Thank you for your help. I figured I could use the compare-to-price option, however I sell shirts/sweatshirts. The size and color variations make it so that it would take me foreverrrrr to manually do the compare-to-price option. I appreciate your help!

We have a 25% automatic discount running on our site and I have sent out codes (random generated) in our abandoned cart emails that offer a 30% discount.
If the customer enters the 30% code it replaces the 25% automatic discount.

So you just need to create a manual code for your customers that is 10% more than the automatic one, which is the same as giving them a second code for an extra 10%.
