All things Shopify and commerce
Hi,
I've been trying to verify my domain using both meta tag and txt and both unsuccessfully. Why is this happening?
I did check that the payment for my membership went through yesterday so it shouldn't be a problem.
Can you please get in touch with me and get this resolved as soon as possible?
Thanks,
Maria
Hey, @marivoro!
Are you trying to verify your domain through Google, or another service? Using the Meta tag would be the best route; however, you'll need to ensure that the script has been added to your "theme.liquid" file under the first <head> line. Once added, you'll also want to ensure that your store does not have a password page enabled (Online Store/Preferences) as the password page will not include the meta tag. If you're trying to use the txt record route, then DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect which could be the reason behind it not verifying right away. Our Shopify Developers help centre document has further insight on how to verify your domain should you need it.
If your password page is disabled, and the meta tag has been placed in the right area but you're still unable to verify the domain, please let me know!

Hi,
I have done this on my page but Facebook is still saying domain verification failed. Please help!
If you do not have a password enabled on your store, and the snippet is placed under the first <head> tag then you can try verifying your store with your ".myshopify.com" URL - If you're still having issues verifying the store after trying your ".myshopify.com" URL then you will need to contact Facebook Support for further assistance.

My domain verification worked for the ".myshopify.com" URL, but did not work on my purchased domain that I bought through shopify, despite both verification meta tags being placed in the same location one after the other and the tags showing in the facebook scraped. Any idea what is causing this issue? Why does one work but not the other? No matter what I do get the same error:
I have the same problem and Facebook support has been making me add and remove the tag in the "theme.liquid" file for days, but it doesn't work.
