Hi there,

I am new on Shopify I want to delete order from shopify. I have tried to find the delete option, but not found. Need help regarding this.

I just saw your post and I discovered that you are finding it difficult to delete an order from your Shopify store.

 

The first thing you need to do is to mark the order archived or canceled before you can actually delete the order. Click on the 'More actions' at the top of the order page. You'll see multiple options in the drop down, select the archived or canceled option. The cancel order option will not show if the order is marked fulfilled or partially fulfilled. Shopify does not allow you to cancel orders that have been fulfilled. If you are trying to delete an order that has been fulfilled, you'll need to archive the order.

Once the order has successfully been marked canceled or archived you will see a delete button on the bottom of the order page. Click the Delete this order button to remove the order from your shopify store.

I have done this and there is still no delete option at the bottom of the order/screen. This order was made via Apple Pay - would this be the cause as to why I cannot delete it?  Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Community. I am happy to give you some insight on this and help.

 

In regard to orders, only a specific group of orders can be deleted from the admin. Check out the list below of what orders can be deleted:

 

 

  • orders that were paid with a manual payment method.
  • orders that started as a draft and were then marked as paid.
  • orders that were imported through the Shopify API.
  • POS orders marked as store credit.
  • test orders.

Any orders that do not one of the above criteria cannot be deleted. If it's the case that your order meets the above criteria that can be deleted, it must be first archived or cancelled.  Orders where payment has been processed through Shopify POS or a payment provider in the online checkout can be archived, but not deleted.

 

If you are using an app like Edit Order  which creates a new modified order to make those edits, you would not be able to delete the original order. However you can delete the edited order that would have been created by the app.
