All things Shopify and commerce
HOW IN THE WORLD IS NOBODY MAKING A LOT OF NOISE ABOUT THIS - Shopify is keeping the transaction fee for cancelled orders - EVEN HISTORICAL - MADE A YEAR AGO from beginning of May 2021.
Some of my transaction fees are £60-100 each order. HOW IN THE WORLD CAN THEY KEEP £60-100 OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY WHEN I HAVE TO REFUND THE CUSTOMER IN FULL.
THIS IS NOT RIGHT. CAN WE MAKE A STAND ABOUT THIS.
Hi Julie,
I faced the same problem recently and this is absolutely disappointing. Perhaps we shall open a petition against Shopify's new rules about non-refunded fees for cancelled orders. Would you sign this kind of petition if we'll have it?
100% I am so disappointed to learn this!
Hello, there's actually a way around this. If you set up payment capture to manual, you will not get charged a fee until you capture payment. You have 10 days to capture payment, but this will allow you to cancel unfulfilled or fraudulent orders without losing out on the fees, as long as you haven't captured payment yet. I usually only capture payment as I start to process the order.
Hope this helps.

How is this done?
I would like to know this as well! I had no idea until just recently that Shopify is keeping the fee on an order canceled right away. For a $5000 bike, this fee is so hefty and I cannot believe they don't refund it!!!
Can you explain how this is done? Thank you!
