Cancelling Signature Required on a Shopify UPS shipped order

We shipped an order by Shopify UPS and selected Signature Required due to the product value. The package arrived at an UPS Access Point. The customer is out of town, and the UPS Access Point is requesting only the recipient and nobody else can pickup the package, who is out of town.


How do we cancel the Signature Required setting for this package?

I don't think that's possible. The buyer will need to coordinate with UPS to resolve this.


Alternatively, the package can be returned to the sender.

The buyer contacted UPS and was told that only the sender can cancel the signature requirement. So it IS a feature that UPS supports.
