All things Shopify and commerce
Hi!
I have a question regarding Category Metafields.
I've looked into the subject, read through docs, but still cannot undestand how category metafields work, what's their purpose, and how are they different from product metafields.
If it were to describe a category, it should not be able to be different for all products below the same castegory, if it is to describe one product, why is it called "category"?
Do they have extra functionality apart from being able to be displayed on the site?
Thanks for the answer, but it kinda looks similar to what product metafields are, so I still cannot undestand, what we need category metafields for.
your 1st point is 'Store additional data related to categories or collections' - so it means that I can store category related data? Then why are the category metafield unique to each product?
As I see the usage of category metafields in liquid, its pretty same to the product metafield, so I don't see what additional functionality do we gain from this.
