Hello,
my client created a store for the Polish market. But he changed his mind and now wants to focus on a different country. The problem is that the back end of the store still uses Zloty instead of Euro. You can go to the settings - general and in store defaults is currency, where you can click and choose from the dropdown menu. I heard that after you save, you can't change it anymore and it looks it's the case. When I click on the three dots, I can only change the currency formatting. Can you help?
Thank you

Hello @LukePokorny
Unfortunately, Shopify doesn’t allow you to change the default currency after the store is created. However, here’s how you can work around it:
Yes, once a store makes its first sale, Shopify locks the currency setting to prevent inconsistencies in financial reporting. However, you can still change the store currency by contacting Shopify Support and requesting a manual change. They may ask you to process refunds or close open orders before proceeding.
If you haven’t made any sales yet, you should be able to change the currency under Settings > Store Details > Currency. If it's still locked, consider creating a new Shopify store with the correct currency from the start or using a multi-currency app if selling internationally.

Yeah, starting fresh seems like the best idea in the long run; the store is basically new. Thank you for your answer!
