Change product picture based on selected filter in collection page

Hi everyone,

I'm designing a shop where I'll have product with several color variants. So I was wondering if it's possible, inside collection page, to change product image when a filter is applied in order to show that particular variant.

Let's say my product option is "color", is it possibile to filter by color (blue for example) and show the image related to the chosen color?

here and here are two examples of a website that does what I'm trying to achieve, do you think it's possibile to get that function with shopify, which ways would you reccomend?

Did you find a solution to this? I'm having the same issue here with featured images showing on all collection pages, even when a filter is selected.
