hi, just want to confirm with this new feature that we can change the name of our shopify store only once.

let's say i have the old name;

iammabrook.myshopify.com

changed to

mabrook.myshopify.com <-- this will be my new shopify store and be used as a new link

Hi @MABROOK,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some guidance with adjusting your shop name, to ensure this gets resolved.

To provide some context, this feature has been granted to certain merchants which allows them to update their domain name one time if it's decided they want something different. I recommend checking out our Adding Business Settings For Your Store documentation for more information on this process.

To confirm however, you are correct! If you decided to make the one time change the new domain would be mabrook.myshopify.com as you mentioned.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi @1KM,

Thank you for reaching out!

To make this one-time change, you can check out our Adding Business Settings For Your Store document for step-by-step instructions. It outlines however, that you can:

  • Head to Settings > Domain, from the Shopify admin.
  • On the Domains page, click Change to a new myshopify.com domain next to your default domain name.

  • Enter a new name, and then click Add domain.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi could you please let us know how many days it required to reflect the changes,?!

actually it will reflect after you changed it.

but it will not change the name of the store, the old store name still remain. but you can access the new name by browsing, as an example below;

iam.mystore.myshopify.com  <-- old name

mabrook.myshopify.com  <-- new name

it seems this steps not really working.. sorry to say..

iam.mystore.myshopify.com  <-- old name

mystore.myshopify.com  <-- new name

when i logged-in  again it is not showing the updated name for my store.

it shows [ iam.mystore.myshopify.com ] and not the update name
