I am trying to add content to meta fields and/or the description field on product pages, but any changes or new content will not save.
did your problem solved? if it is solved then please tell me about the solution. I have already cleared my cache of my browser!
I am also experiencing this issue editing product details such as title, status, description. I can eventually make some changes if I try enough times, but others (status) I can't change even after 10+ tries, restarting my computer, clearing cache, etc.
I am having the same issue this morning. Hasn't been happening and now it has. Really annoying for my client who is launching their new site today.
They seemed to have fixed it (for me)! It's obvious they were having an issue as we all came to this forum post at the same time. After my post I ate and went for a walk. I did nothing else except refresh the window and tried again, and it worked. Hopefully you're having better results too!

Recently our developers discovered that merchants were experiencing issues with metafields not saving properly. This has become resolved and you should no longer have issues with saving your changes made.
With that being said, If you do happen to notice that the changes made did not get saved. I would suggest attempting to clear the cache on your browser and trying the action once again. If the error persists, you can try a different browser - as for example, if you are using Safari try this action on Google Chrome.
Let me know if that does the trick.
Changes still aren’t saving. We are beyond frustrated going round and round. You hit save and u think it’s saved then it hi-lights the word save again like as if you never hit it. U can do this 10 times. The only way out is to go back and then it will say discard changes? and u have to click yes because there’s no way out. This is taking for ever for us to input products. We do every thing with our mobile devices in the warehouse and this is beyond frustrating. Just now I realized all the products I spent hours inputting yesterday has every sku and barcode missing that we already input. You mentioned this is fixed. This is definitely not fixed Inside the Shopify app. We have had nothing but problems with the app since you changed it all around.
Do you realize this is back and worse than before. We spent hours yesterday inputting products and photos and they disappeared. Now today we realized all of our skus aren’t saving. This is causing a lot of challenges because the products are now listed with no skus and / item numbers. I’ve uploaded photos 4 times and within an hour they all vanish. How can we get this fixed?
I should mention we are using our iPhones from the warehouse. We use the app to input all product and always have. But we aren’t sure how to fix this problem.
I posted in a new thread after I discovered this old thread was not showing hence my just discovering your post. I was having trouble that night but when I tried the next morning the problem was fixed. This might not solve your problem but the good news the bug may pass for you too.
The issue is still here, I have tried all things that you mentioned. is there any way to solve this error of saving metadata ?

This issue is back. Cleared cookies, cache etc. Tried in different web browsers. Lastly, I tried to change via app and still same error:
I am having this issue now. I have wasted hours! I enter correct colours, sizes and also reorder the colours into alphabetical order and it appears to save. I then check in a few minutes and its back to what it was before. I have cleared the Cache, I have moved to another computer and no luck. Is there any resolution to this problem?
We have seen it better than it was but many times from iPads in our warehouse and iPhones it doesn’t save the sku or barcode. Sometimes we don’t realize for days because it looks like it saved. But it’s very sporadic now. Not always.
This problem is getting worse for us! Doesn't matter which device we use (iPad, Chromebook, or Android phone). It's maddening to spend so much time working on records and have it all vaporize. @Ollie why is this still happening?
we keep getting an error code. Changes not saved. Another day of not finding help. Someone mentioned hours with customer support we can’t even find customer support anymore. How are you getting to a human?
