Changing qualify for free shipping order amount

Hi

 

I am having some trouble changing the qualify for free shopping, as I want to set the order based on value to a certain amount. I have played around with the rates in the settings, but when I try to go for a checkout, it automatically says that I am qualified for free shipping at a value lower than what i wanted it to be.

 

Can i get some help please?

I'd love to help you get your shipping settings right. Essentially, you need to follow these steps to create a free shipping rate over a certain value:

 

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
  2. In the Shipping section, click the shipping profile that you want to edit.
  3. Add the shipping rate to each shipping zone where you want the free shipping rate:
    1. Click Add rate.
    2. Enter the name for the rate.
    3. Make sure that the value of the Price field is 0.
    4. Click Add conditions.
    5. Select Based on order price.
    6. Enter a minimum price (this is the most important step to ensure free shipping is applied only above a certain amount).
    7. Click Done.
  4. Click Save.

 

Could you please go over these steps, especially step 7, to ensure you were able to set up the free shipping rate accordingly? If you did, I suggest checking your shipping profiles if you have more than one. It's possible that you may have added the free shipping rate to a shipping profile that the product you checked out with is not assigned to. Additionally, I recommend checking if you have any shipping apps in your store that may be interfering with your shipping rates.

I understand your theme has a free shipping bar on the cart page. Free shipping bars are not native to Shopify themes, but they can be added through a third-party app or it can be a built-in feature in a third-party theme. The app or theme does not usually sync with the shipping settings and so the free shipping amount needs to be manually configured within the app or theme. 

 

If you're using an app to add the free shipping bar, I suggest going into the app to check its settings to resolve the problem. You can also contact the app developers for assistance. If you're not using an app, check your theme as it's likely a built-in feature. You can contact the theme developers for help.

Yes it is possible to determine free shipping based on order amount using ShipRight app. For this you have to do this:

 

  1. Open the app and click on the "Add a new rule" button.
  2. Click "Add a new condition" and select the "Cart total" option.
  3. Select "Hide if less than" and add the amount qualified for the free shipping in the "Cart total" field.
  4. Add your free shipping name in the  "Additional shipping methods" field.
  5. Save the rule.

Now your free shipping option will be visible only when the cart total exceeds your minimum limit for the free shipping.
